2)         Women´s Helpline against Male Violence (seated at the Austrian Women´s Shelter Network since June 1st 1999.)

3)         Nationwide poster campaign in cooperation with prominent men who oppose and fight violence in public

Date: 2 or 3 weeks at the end of June 2000

 

 

4)         3 years Legislation on Protection from Violence in Austria“ event at the planning stage, in cooperation with the Intervention Centres in Austria

Legislation designed to afford greater protection from domestic violence (Protection from Violence Act) came into force in Austria on May 1, 1997. Some aspects of this legislation have been amended and improved as of January 1, 2000.

Date: beginning of May 2000

 

 

Within the “Awareness Week” the following activities and events should particularly reach young people in order to raise their awareness and informationlevel.

5)         Anti-Violence-Comic for young people between 12 and 16 years (created in cooperation with experts)

 

6)         Anti-Violence-Clubbing for young people, in cooperation with the City of Vienna and radiostations, etc..)

 

7)   Awareness Day in schools (in cooperation with experts and the media)
